A Journey Of A Thousand Miles Begins With A Single Step

How many times do you think Carrot Top almost gave up on his plastic surgery? Probably many. But you know what? He didn't. He told his plastic surgeon, "We will succeed together!". And some day, they probably will!

A year ago last Friday my wife Bridget was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is the picture of health now. The chemo was completed last December, all cancer is gone. We are very blessed. See her blog, http://bridgetdehl.com for more on that journey.

That event is what pushed me to take the first, real step on this journey and there’s no looking back now.

My question to you is: what will push you to take YOUR first step? A death in the family? Divorce? Losing a job you really didn’t like anyway? Let’s all make a deal with each other. We won’t wait for tragedy or near misses to give us the collective kicks in our asses we all need to pursue our dreams. It’s a fucking cliché anyway. How about we just go for it now while we all still have our health and the health of our loved ones?

Don’t anybody stand in my way, ’cause you’re gonna get mowed over.

Cheers!

The fact I wanted to put a bullet in my head every day I woke up and had to be a project manager for a union drywall company was the kick in the ass I needed.

That would do it as well.

This post made me wanna go out and accomplish something great! I am not sure if it is human nature or what it is that makes us wait to get off of our tales until something life changing happens. I agree totally, why wait for something like that to get motivated to do something great. Thanks for the post.
